Pemuda PKR dakwa Akmal cuba ‘alih tiang gol’ berkait RCI TH

Pemuda PKR has accused Dr Akmal Saleh, the former PKR Deputy President and current Umno Deputy President, of attempting to "throw the game" regarding the recently released Tabung Haji (TH) audit report by the Royal Malaysian Commission of Inquiry (RCI). The PKR Youth Leader Danial Hairudin, in a Facebook post, criticized Akmal for selectively choosing parts of the report to bolster his political narrative, rather than addressing the major issues uncovered.

Danial expressed disappointment that Akmal, who has been vocal about demanding the release of the RCI report, failed to address concerns such as creative accounting, poor management, and significant investment losses. He urged Akmal and Umno to answer and fight against these issues instead of avoiding them. Danial emphasized the need for transparency, suggesting that people should fully accept the truth instead of seeking only favorable outcomes.

Previously, Akmal had called for the full release of the RCI report, rather than a half-hearted approach, to prevent public confusion. He also questioned the decision to form a new RCI to investigate TH management, as the commission had already been established before Anwar Ibrahim became the Prime Minister in 2022.

Danial stressed that if the PKR is not satisfied with the RCI findings, they should not attempt to shift blame to the current government. He called on Umno through their MPs to discuss the report thoroughly in the Dewan Rakyat and provide any new evidence to the authorities. He stressed that all aspects of the report, including potentially uncomfortable truths about Umno, should be addressed, rather than selectively discussing certain aspects to strengthen a political narrative. Danial warned against shifting the focus away from the core issues.
