PAC setuju mula prosiding siasat kelemahan pengurusan Tabung Haji

Parliamentary Accounting Committee (PAC) has agreed to initiate an investigation into the management, financial and investment practices of the Tabung Haji (TH) institution. PAC Chairperson Mas Ermieyati Samsudin clarified that this decision does not seek to rehash the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI). The decision comes after RCI's report on TH's management and operations from 2014 to 2020 was made public on July 29.

PAC views the RCI's findings seriously as the issue could undermine public trust in TH among Muslims if not addressed properly.

Several issues remain unaddressed since the RCI report was revealed and discussed in a special session of the Dewan Rakyat on August 11, 2026. Mas Ermieyati announced Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi as a potential candidate for PAC to establish a special committee to investigate TH's management, which would examine the institution's management from 2017 to the present.

Mas Ermieyati emphasized that PAC has clear authority to initiate proceedings on this matter, but the investigation would not repeat the RCI's comprehensive inquiry. Instead, PAC will focus on the status and progress of RCI's recommendations.

The title, terms of reference, and list of witnesses for this investigation have not been finalized yet, and the special meeting will be held by the PAC to discuss these matters. Mas Ermieyati stated that to ensure a thorough, transparent, and accountable investigation of TH, PAC will use various documents as references, including the RCI report, the State Auditor's report, and the audit report by PwC.
