PAC setuju mula prosiding siasat kelemahan pengurusan Tabung Haji

The Indonesian Parliament's Advisory Body (PAC) has agreed to initiate an inquiry into the management weaknesses of the Tabung Haji (TH) organization. PAC Chair Mas Ermieyati stated that this decision does not aim to revive the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report, which was published on July 29th detailing the TH's management and operations from 2014 to 2020.

PAC acknowledges the gravity of the RCI's findings, as the issue could undermine public trust in TH among the Islamic community if left unaddressed. Following the RCI report, there remain several concerns that continue to be raised, both publicly and during a parliamentary session on August 11th, 2026. That day, Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi suggested that a special task force within PAC investigate TH's management since 2017.

Mas Ermieyati affirmed that PAC possesses the authority to commence such an inquiry, but emphasized that it will not repeat the RCI's comprehensive investigation. Instead, PAC will focus on the actual status and progress of the RCI recommendations' implementation. The specifics of the inquiry's title, terms, and list of witnesses are yet to be determined, and a special meeting will be held by the PAC to address these matters.

To ensure a thorough, accurate, and accountable inquiry, PAC will utilize various documents as references, including the RCI report, the Auditor General's report, and audits conducted by PwC.
