Ohio Stadium debuts 1-pound Buckeye Barbecue Box for football season

Ohio Stadium has introduced a new 1-pound Buckeye Barbecue Box for the upcoming football season. This box, filled with smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno cheddar sausage, and bone-in chicken thighs, is designed for sharing and will be sold in concession stands near sections 15A and 6A. The new items are part of Ohio State's effort to cater to both traditional stadium food fans and those seeking more innovative options.

The first home game of the 2026 season is scheduled for Sept. 5 against Mid-American Conference rival Ball State. Ohio State football's executive chef, Justin Odenthal, oversees the new offerings at Ohio Stadium and the Schottenstein Center. Odenthal's goal is to balance fan preferences by offering familiar classics alongside novel dishes like the Ball State Burger, which features a beef patty topped with cheese and cherries.

Other new foods include a Banh Mi Dog with Vietnamese condiments such as pickled vegetables, Sriracha mayo, and cilantro.
