Mbappe hat-trick powers Real Madrid past Real Sociedad on Mourinho's Bernabeu return
Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. The match marked Jose Mourinho's return to the Bernabeu after more than a decade, leading the club in their first home game of the LaLiga season. Mbappe put Madrid ahead in the 40th minute, then restored the lead in the 60th and Vinicius Jr added a third in the 68th.
The match saw Real recover from a sluggish first half, with Mourinho's substitutions bringing a more intense performance. Early in the game, Real Sociedad nearly took the lead in the 10th minute, but Thibaut Courtois saved a close-range effort by Mikel Oyarzabal. The visitors also had a chance in the 34th minute when Sergio Gomez's volley was kept out by Courtois. However, Mbappe's class and intensity in the second half secured the victory for Real Madrid.
