Jubilee dismisses Nairobi officials’ defection to Gachagua’s DCP, cites misconduct and solicitation

According to the Jubilee Party, some of its officials in Nairobi have recently defected to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP). However, the party claims the defection should not be construed as a sudden shift, as the officials were already suspended months ago due to alleged misconduct and solicitation.

The party asserts that the disciplinary actions were taken not for political retaliation, but to uphold the integrity of its party, members, structures, and democratic processes. The statements further mention that some individuals who previously held positions under the Jubilee ticket have been operating outside the party's programmes, structures, and collective decisions.

Jubilee refuses to be drawn into debates on defections, instead concentrating on rebuilding its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 General Election. The party has plans to focus on issues such as the cost of living, jobs, young people's opportunities, affordable housing, security, transport, and accountable county government in Nairobi as part of its political renewal.

Jubilee remains open to new members, aspirants, professionals, community leaders, young people, women, and entrepreneurs who wish to contribute to its political programme and is determined to present a serious political alternative in the upcoming elections.
