Hyundai Motor to expand global production capacity, launch over 100 models by 2030

Hyundai Motor plans to introduce more than 100 new vehicle models worldwide by 2030, according to a presentation made at the company's 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul. The ambitious target comes as the automaker navigates increasing challenges stemming from tariffs in the United States, the emergence of strong Chinese competitors, and the rapid evolution of the automotive industry towards future mobility solutions.

During the event, which drew investors, analysts, and credit rating agencies, Hyundai revealed its comprehensive lineup expansion plan. The new models will encompass both full and partial modifications, as well as derivative versions of existing vehicles. Notably, over 18 of these new arrivals will be entirely novel vehicles entering segments where Hyundai currently has no presence.

Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group's luxury marque, will make its debut with a hybrid model - the GV80 hybrid - slated for release in Korea and the United States during the second half of the year. Following this, an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) will join the lineup in the first half of the coming year. Additionally, the Tucson SUV and its hybrid counterpart are scheduled for launch in the second half of the current year.

To accommodate this expanded portfolio, Hyundai intends to augment its global production capacity by 1.27 million units by 2030. This growth target will see the company increase output by 500,000 units in North America, 320,000 units in India, and an additional 20 unspecified units.
