‘Government in action mode’: Industries drop threat to relocate from Maharashtra’s Chakan

Chakan industrialists have decided to remain in Maharashtra's Chakan area, assuring the state government of their commitment after a series of meetings with officials. The Maharashtra government is currently taking decisive action, addressing the industries' concerns about infrastructure upgrades. Shantanu Kulkarni, president of the Chakan Industrial Association, expressed gratitude for the government's swift response.

A meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde significantly boosted their confidence, resulting in concrete measures being implemented. Industries Minister had also visited Chakan, announcing a slew of measures and a 10-month deadline for infrastructure-related works. The appointment of Jitendra Dudi as the nodal officer to coordinate among government agencies is expected to further resolve outstanding issues.

Both Kulkarni and Dhananjay Shedbale, another industrialist, emphasized that their primary objectives were traffic congestion, poor road conditions, uninterrupted power supply, adequate water supply, proper waste management, and making Chakan more livable and business-friendly. They reiterated that their goal is not to damage Chakan's image or Maharashtra's reputation as an investment destination.

The Association expressed their satisfaction with the government's direction and speed of execution, promising continued cooperation to ensure sustainable impact on Chakan's roads, industries, and the daily lives of its citizens.
