Goalie Andersen, three others to miss Oilers camp with injuries

Edmonton - Recently signed goaltender Frederik Andersen is among four players anticipated to miss the Edmonton Oilers' training camp next month following an injury sustained during off-season training. The Oilers disclosed on Wednesday that Andersen, along with defensemen Alec Regula and forwards Mattias Janmark and Matt Savoie, will be sidelined due to injuries ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The specifics of Andersen and Savoie's injuries, who also suffered a setback during an off-season training session, were not disclosed by the team. Mattias Janmark had surgery in March for an undisclosed chronic injury and is recuperating from a medical procedure conducted after the previous season. Andersen inked a one-year, US$2.8 million contract with the Oilers on July 1, following his crucial performance in the Stanley Cup title run with the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 26-year-old Danish goaltender posted a 13-2-0 record, a 1.89 GAA, .913 save percentage, and three shutouts during the playoffs. In addition to Andersen, the Oilers are expecting veteran Tristan Jarry and young prospect Devon Levi to join them at training camp.
