Gamescom 2026 brings new Rainbow Six, Metro, Witcher 3 and Heroes of Might & Magic reveals

Heroes of Might & Magic continues to gain popularity. Not only are publishers Hooded Horse and Ubisoft supporting the development of Unfrozen's Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, the first new game in the series in over a decade. However, Ubisoft is also remaking the series' most acclaimed title: Heroes of Might & Magic 3. Despite numerous quality of life improvements, Ubisoft aims to keep the spirit of the original game as close as possible.

A new three-mission prelude is included to introduce players to the story and teach the game's systems. Upon completion, players can continue with the original campaign and its two expansions - Armageddon's Blade and The Shadow of Death. This remake also ensures that all nine factions from the original game will be available for players to choose from.

During my initial few hours with the remake, I will share my thoughts on the experience. One of the most impressive aspects of the remake is its support for all custom maps and campaigns created by players over the past 25 years. Ubisoft demonstrated how any original map file from the original game can be imported into the map creator of Heroes of Might & Magic 3 Remake, which will build a modern-looking level using the old data.

This feature is a remarkable way to support the dedicated players who have been enjoying the game for decades since its release.
