ESPN Removing BottomLine Ticker on College Football Games

ESPN is discontinuing the BottomLine ticker during regular-season college football games, the network disclosed to Front Office Sports. This decision follows its removal during College Football Playoff games and other major events, such as NBA and NHL postseason contests. During live action, ESPN will no longer display the ticker on ABC, ACC Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, and SEC Network.

ESPN spokesperson stated, "We’re always looking for ways to better serve sports fans. By removing the BottomLine during live action, we’re creating a cleaner presentation that keeps the focus where it belongs—on the field." However, score alerts will still be provided during games at specific times within each quarter. Additionally, updates will be displayed above the score bug or on the top right of the screen to assist viewers with schedule changes.
