Nigerian presidential candidate Peter Obi has paid tribute to late country music icon Dolly Parton, emphasizing that her greatness extended far beyond her music. In a post on his X handle following her death at 80, Obi highlighted Parton's enduring legacy, which included her music, fame, wealth, and the person she remained despite her success.

He noted that Parton, who grew up in poverty in rural Tennessee, never forgot her humble beginnings and carried them into her music and life.
