Court releases notes allegedly penned by accused parent murderer

South Australia's Supreme Court has released handwritten notes allegedly penned by Raelene Polymiadis, a woman accused of murdering her parents. Polymiadis is currently standing trial after pleading not guilty to the murders of her parents, Brenda and Lynton Anders. The court has released the notes, which allegedly contain references to police waiting for her to become cocky and slip up.

One note reads, "What they will do is wait for a few weeks months year to see if I think I got away with it and I get cocky and slip up. Hang on buddy, it could be a long ride." Another note asks, "Who are you sorry? Are you from the Coroner's office? Why only now are you speaking with me and it's only a few days after the funeral!!"

The notes also discuss events in the hospital, with one stating, "We went to see dad, they were keeping him warm, he was out to it — unconscious I guess but breathing with help of oxygen I think — I'm sorry this is really hard relieving all this — is it absolutely necessary." The trial heard that police listening devices captured Polymiadis praying to God and confessing to the crimes in her car. Her lawyer stated that the context of the alleged confession would be explored during the trial.
