Bella’s lawyers reject Sheggz’s defamation suit, make fresh allegations

Lawyers representing former "BBNaija" housemate Bella Okagbue have rejected the defamation allegations brought against her by her ex-boyfriend, Segun "Sheggz" Olusemo, intensifying the public conflict between the former reality TV partners. In a letter dated August 24, 2026, Bella's legal team labeled the allegations in a cease-and-desist notice as "spurious and baseless."

According to the lawyers, Bella's social media posts were genuine expressions of her feelings and experiences, not defamatory statements that could harm Sheggz's reputation. The legal team further claimed Sheggz broke a promise to marry Bella and falsely represented his intentions during their relationship, actions they deemed deceitful.

Bella's lawyers also accused Sheggz of obtaining loans from their client under false pretenses, asserting they had evidence to support the claim and would pursue the matter legally. They refused demands for a retraction, apology, and cease-and-desist order, maintaining Bella never made defamatory statements about her former partner.

The lawyers also accused a member of Sheggz's legal team of contacting Bella unsolicited via messages, calls, and video chats at unusual hours, warning the lawyer to stop such behavior. This latest development follows the ongoing public dispute between the former "BBNaija" stars.
