Bangladesh to Buy Rafale Killer J-10C Jets From China

Bangladesh is considering purchasing Chinese J-10CE fighter jets following a review of the aircraft's performance during the May 2025 conflict that heavily outperformed India's Rafale jets, according to a report by Bloomberg. The country's Adviser to the Prime Minister for Policy, Strategy and Information, Zahed Ur Rahman, announced the completion of a draft agreement for the acquisition during a media briefing in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The J-10CE is an export variant of China's J-10C multirole fighter jet, capable of executing both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions and equipped with advanced radar, electronic warfare systems, and advanced air-to-air missiles. The interest in this aircraft surged after the May 2025 war, as Pakistani forces demonstrated the effectiveness of Chinese-origin fighter aircraft and weapons against India's Rafale jets.

Bangladesh has a long-standing defense relationship with China, supplying the country with a considerable portion of its military equipment, including aircraft, naval vessels, and other defense systems.
