Recent reports have raised concerns about Manchester City's recent transfer activities, with some questioning whether the club is engaged in a "fire sale". Enzo Maresca, City's manager, made it clear during a recent pre-match press conference that any player unhappy at the club is free to leave. This stance was evident in the cases of Savio, who had stated from the outset that he wanted to move on, and Omar Marmoush, who has been frustrated with the limited playing time he has received since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marmoush's dissatisfaction is not unfounded, as he is considered a valuable player who should not be relegated to playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland. In addition to Marmoush and Savio, two other players - Tijjani Reijnders and Nico Gonzalez - have struggled to establish themselves in the first-team lineup. City purchased Reijnders for £46.5 million last summer and made a £6.5 million profit on the sale, while they recouped most of their investment in Gonzalez last January.

Despite these departures, City's transfer strategy remains relatively stable. The club has already signed new players, including Elliot Anderson, Ayyoub Bouaddi, and Allan Elias. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions regarding potential signings of Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea. Manchester City's director of football, Hugo Viana, is expected to finalize several deals before the end of the transfer window.
