Microsoft is reportedly developing a feature called "Link to Windows" that would allow Android users to remotely manage their Windows PCs. This feature, discovered through an APK teardown, would enable users to shut down, restart, or put their PCs to sleep from their Android devices. However, Microsoft has included warnings to ensure users are aware of the potential consequences of their actions.

For instance, if a user opts to shut down or restart their PC remotely, they will be notified that they may risk losing unsaved work. Similarly, when putting their PC to sleep, users will be informed about the potential disconnection of their phone. The development of this feature comes as Microsoft continues to integrate Windows 11 with Android, as evidenced by the prototyping of several new features, including a standalone Messages app that can be accessed through the Start menu.

Additionally, a recent Phone Link experiment has provided users with more information at a glance. The "Link to Windows" app, which serves as the Android companion app for Phone Link, contains code hints at this new feature. The strings of code found within the app indicate that users will be able to remotely control their PCs with commands to restart, put to sleep, shut down, update, and restart, as well as update and shut down their devices.
