Al-Baha Municipality launches second municipal innovation hackathon with eight tracks

Al-Baha Municipality has commenced its second Municipal Innovation Hackathon, partnering with the Ministry of Communications to foster urban service development. This 2026 edition, titled "Together We Innovate for Sustainable Municipal Services and Urban Quality of Life," aims to generate innovative solutions, enhance municipal services, and stimulate the urban economy.

Mayor Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat emphasized the initiative's role in empowering ideas, transforming them into viable projects, and fostering partnerships among the municipal sector, entrepreneurs, and innovators. The hackathon offers eight tracks, including support for mobile vendors, urban planning, dignified burial services, community partnerships, urban landscape enhancement, emergency management, investment development, and user experience enhancement.

Running until September 8, 2026, the competition promises digital prizes worth up to 500,000 riyals (SAR) for winning projects. Eligible participants must be Saudi nationals aged 21 or older, with teams comprising at least three members. Projects must align with one of the hackathon tracks and adhere to all submission requirements and deadlines.
