A June date on the calendar, but no hearing yet for Bryan Kohberger’s plea challenge

Boise, Idaho (AP) — The timeline for Bryan Kohberger's plea withdrawal in the University of Idaho murders has been set by an Idaho judge, with no hearing scheduled for the moment. Fourth District Judge Steven Hippler outlined strict legal standards for any new evidence and warned attorneys on both sides to follow the Idaho Rules of Court Procedure.

Kohberger, who pleaded guilty to the murders of four students in 2022, asked his attorneys to withdraw his plea, alleging manipulation and inadequate disclosure of evidence. A new attorney, Greg Rauch, was appointed to represent Kohberger. Hippler instructed both parties to disclose potential witnesses, including experts, by February and set a status conference for next June.
