2027: APC campaign council list stands, adjustments coming – Presidency

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 election remains valid, according to the Presidency, although adjustments will be made to its structure. Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, clarified this on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

The controversy surrounding the council's composition, particularly the inclusion of some party leaders and the absence of others, led to speculation that the list might be reconsidered. However, Dare emphasized that the list had not been withdrawn, as the party had issued a statement to that effect. The adjustments are expected to be made as the campaign structure is still in the process of formation, with several subcommittees yet to be constituted.

Dare also clarified that the term 'adjustments' does not equate to a 'review' of the existing structure, as the latter would imply a wholesale overhaul. The current plan includes President Tinubu as the chairman, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as vice chairmen, Abdul’aziz Yari as Director-General, and Hope Uzodimma as secretary.
