'0% chance' - Atletico hit back at Barca over Alvarez transfer row
Barcelona have again restated their desire to sign Julian Alvarez, prompting another angry response from Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid is maintaining that there is no chance of selling their forward Julian Alvarez to Barcelona, despite the Spanish giants' president Joan Laporta stating otherwise. The 26-year-old Alvarez has been the target of transfer speculation this summer, with Barcelona offering a staggering £85.7m bid. However, Atletico insists that the club's 0% chance of letting him go to Barca is not about money, but about the player's dignity and the harm done to them by Barcelona's alleged 100m euros offer.
The club president also condemned Laporta's recent video, which said Barcelona's offer was still on the table. Barcelona is reportedly still trying to sign Alvarez until the transfer window closes, but sources close to the situation say Alvarez still wants to stay in Spain.
