Why cooperation among security, intelligence agencies is indispensable – Delta CP

The Delta State Police Command has emphasized the critical importance of cooperation among security and intelligence agencies in addressing contemporary security challenges. During a recent meeting with participants of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course (ADIOC) 16/2026 from the Defence Intelligence College in Abuja, Delta State Command Commissioner, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, stressed the necessity of close collaboration, timely intelligence sharing, and coordinated responses among law enforcement bodies to effectively tackle security threats.

During his presentation, Oyeniyi highlighted the need for security agencies to work together, share information promptly, and coordinate their efforts to enhance national resilience. He also showcased the command's accomplishments through practical examples from its operations, underscoring the benefits of intelligence-driven policing and inter-agency cooperation in curbing crime across Delta State.

Following the presentation, the attendees posed questions on various topics, including policing, intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and security operations. These inquiries were answered by the CP and senior officers of the command. The meeting concluded with the Delta State Police reiterating its unwavering commitment to fostering cooperation with other security and intelligence agencies to protect lives and property within the region.
