Vegas hotels are panicking about losing Canadian tourism amid Trump's trade wars: 'We want to welcome them back'

The Las Vegas Strip, a bustling hub of entertainment and tourism, is facing a potential crisis as Canadian travelers reconsider their trips to the US amid escalating tensions and proposed tariffs. Las Vegas, a popular destination for Canadian visitors, is among many US tourist spots grappling with the fallout of these trade disputes.

In response, Las Vegas hotels have taken swift action to woo back Canadian tourists. Hotels such as Circa Resort and Casino, D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino are offering special promotions to attract visitors from Canada. These hotels are providing the allure of a more favorable exchange rate, allowing Canadian dollars to go further during their stay.

Notably, Circa Resort and Casino has implemented a "Vegas At Par" promotion, in which Canadian dollars are exchanged at a 1:1 rate with US dollars. This promotion, available until August 31, has already attracted over 75,000 Canadian tourists, generating a substantial $15 million in slot coin-in. Circa is also offering discounted helicopter tours of the Strip, making the city even more enticing for Canadian visitors.

MGM Resorts International, another major player in the Las Vegas tourism scene, is also taking steps to welcome back Canadian tourists. Hotels like the Luxor and Excalibur are offering all-inclusive special deals for two people, including meals and entertainment, for just $330. This promotion is aimed at enticing travelers who are motivated by entertainment and sporting events, such as Formula 1 races.

In addition to these individual hotel promotions, Air Canada is partnering with Las Vegas properties to offer discounted flight-and-hotel packages, further incentivizing Canadian travelers to consider a return trip to the city. With the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority actively engaging with Canadian travel agents in Western Canada, it is clear that the city is determined to win back its Canadian visitors and revitalize its tourism industry.
