UAE weather forecast: Rain expected to continue this week as temperatures reach 48°C

Dubai, UAE is bracing for continued rainfall this week as temperatures soar to 48°C, according to a weather forecast from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Unsettled conditions are expected to persist through the week, with winds intensifying to up to 55km/h on Wednesday. Tuesday will see fair to partly cloudy skies, with convective clouds developing over eastern and southern areas, bringing a chance of rainfall.

Similar rain was reported in Al Ain on Monday, affecting areas such as Sa’a, Al Fou’ah and the Khatm Al Shakla road. The UAE is currently experiencing the influence of a surface low-pressure system from the east, combined with an upper-air low-pressure system. Inland regions can expect maximum temperatures between 44°C and 48°C, while coastal areas may reach 38°C to 43°C.

Mountainous areas will see temperatures ranging from 33°C to 37°C. Winds will be light to moderate but may strengthen to 45km/h in internal and mountainous areas, potentially stirring up dust. Overnight humidity is expected to increase, with a chance of mist over some western coastal areas on Wednesday morning. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will remain relatively slight.

As the week progresses, the weather is forecast to become more unsettled on Wednesday, with rain-bearing convective clouds potentially spreading from eastern and southern areas into the interior. Winds may reach 55km/h, leading to increased dust and sand. Rain may continue over eastern and southern areas on Thursday, with convective clouds mainly forecast over the east on Friday, and another chance of rainfall on Saturday.
