U.S. Ambassador hosts business roundtable in Hyderabad to drive trade and industrial ties

U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor and U.S. Consul General Laura Williams hosted a business roundtable in Hyderabad, aiming to strengthen trade and industrial ties between the two nations. The event, held at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, celebrated India's 250-year-old relationship with the U.S. and brought together prominent industry leaders from sectors such as defense manufacturing, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

The dinner, which marked the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, aimed to transform strategic bilateral policy into tangible business investments across South India. U.S. Ambassador Gor stated that the U.S.-India partnership had evolved beyond mere strategic alignment, now encompassing defense, technology, life sciences, and space.

This new partnership is built on decades-long business-to-business collaborations between the two countries, with each deal contributing to the shared goal of achieving $500 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.

U.S. Consul General Laura Williams emphasized the critical role of South India in the bilateral relationship, citing transformative technology, data, and critical mineral partnerships emerging in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. She encouraged business leaders to take advantage of various policy frameworks, such as the TRUST Initiative, Pax Silica, the U.S.-India COMPACT, and the U.S.-India Strategic Mineral Recovery Initiative, as direct means for investment, supply-chain partnerships, and market access.
