Drone strikes target major Russian oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai

On August 23, a Russian drone strike caused a devastating fire at a Ukrainian Red Cross warehouse in Kherson, destroying supplies worth approximately $675,000 (28 million UAH). The Red Cross press service announced this on August 24, highlighting that the warehouse contained critical equipment and materials for autumn and winter preparations, as well as emergency reserves for responding to shelling aftermaths.

These reserves included temporary roofing supplies for damaged homes, medical supplies, blankets, hygiene kits, emergency power and water systems, and various humanitarian goods. No staff or volunteers were harmed in the attack.

In contrast, on July 2, a Russian missile assault on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast destroyed another Ukrainian Red Cross warehouse in the same region. This facility held high-value equipment, including power generators, heat pumps, and specialized medical hardware like stretchers, defibrillators, ultrasound diagnostic machines, and vital-sign patient monitors.

The July attack also eliminated a strategic humanitarian emergency reserve, which included blankets, bedding sets, hygiene kits, tarpaulins, plastic sheeting, sleeping packs, and other survival essentials. Assessments following the July strike revealed the loss of over 320,000 units of humanitarian relief goods and operational equipment valued at more than $1.9 million (79 million UAH).
