U.S. Air Force transport plane lands in Moscow. It’s unclear who was on board.

On August 25, a U.S. Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft touched down at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport. The aircraft, identified by its tail number RCH4555, had departed from Riga earlier that morning, around 8:50 a.m. Moscow time, according to tracking data from Flightradar24. Flightradar24 has since ceased monitoring the flight, suggesting the plane has either landed or moved beyond their coverage area.

Prior to this, the same aircraft had flown into Riga from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland on August 23. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated he had no knowledge of the U.S. Air Force plane's presence in Moscow and stated that no meetings with U.S. administration officials are scheduled at the Kremlin this week. Russian authorities had been anticipating visits from U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who had acted as intermediaries in past peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv.
