Tempo launches Workforce Intelligence to tie AI spend to Jira work items

Tempo Software Inc. has launched Workforce Intelligence, an Atlassian Marketplace app that links artificial intelligence usage costs to specific Jira work items. The new offering is part of Tempo's Intelligent Portfolio Orchestration solution. The app connects AI activity with human effort for individual Jira work items, then aggregates those records to larger projects.

This allows engineering managers to compare cycle times for AI-assisted work with other tasks, as well as track AI spending, user activity, and costs for strategic initiatives. Workforce Intelligence can run natively within Jira, so engineers don't need to log changes to their workflows. With budget scrutiny increasing on AI spending, fewer than one-third of decision-makers can currently tie AI value to financial growth, according to Forrester Research.

However, organizations that train their employees and set clear usage rules for AI tools are more likely to see real value from their investments. Tempo serves over 30,000 customers, including Cisco Systems, Airbus, and Oracle, and has recently been acquired by private equity firm Diversis Capital. Workforce Intelligence is now available on the Atlassian Marketplace.
