Sigma deepens Rolls-Royce ties with £125m deal

Sigma Advanced Systems has reached a substantial £125 million (approximately Rs 1,600 crore) long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce, as part of the Indian aerospace firm's growing partnership with the UK-based company. This latest deal follows a previously secured agreement worth around £300 million (Rs 3,800 crore), bringing the total value of both contracts to nearly £425 million.

The new long-term agreement involves Bromford Precision Solutions, Sigma's recently acquired UK subsidiary based in Leicester. Bromford will manufacture critical aero-engine components such as rings, casings, and lock plates at Sigma's manufacturing facilities in both India and the UK. The deal aims to provide Rolls-Royce with a dual-source manufacturing solution and expand Sigma's component supply range to the aerospace major.

Sigma CEO Sunil Kalidindi highlighted the importance of this agreement, stating that it demonstrates India's growing precision engineering and defence-aerospace manufacturing capabilities. The acquisition of Bromford has also bolstered Sigma's position within Rolls-Royce's supply chain and will help secure the future of the Leicestershire facility, supporting skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs in the UK.
