Robles subraya que el CNI hizo su trabajo en los días previos a la entrada en Ceuta e informó a Delegación del Gobierno

Minister of Defense Margarita Robles emphasized in Congress that military intelligence services, including agents from the National Center of Intelligence (CNI), carried out their duties in the days preceding the massive influx of migrants into Ceuta. They informed the security forces and the Government Delegation, though she declined to provide further details, citing the need for secrecy.

At the Defense Committee, Robles praised the work of military personnel during the crisis and extended special commendations to the members of CIFAS and CNI, whose efforts were questioned due to the migrants' arrival. Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska stated that no one had warned about a similar migrant influx like the one that occurred in Ceuta at the end of July.

However, Robles believes that the intelligence services performed their tasks well, including the 25 CNI agents stationed in the area, whose work is protected by the duty of secrecy. This secrecy often acts as a barrier, preventing the public awareness of the actions they undertake. These agents monitor the situation in Ceuta daily from various perspectives, such as relations with neighboring countries, geopolitical conditions in the southern flank, organized crime activities, the use of networks, the rise of jihadist terrorism, and irregular migration, considering the situation in neighboring countries like the Sahel, as well as destabilizing actions through hybrid threats by international agents.

Robles highlighted that during those days, the military also fulfilled their mandated tasks and communicated and analyzed with the security forces of the State and personnel of the Government Delegation.
