Pemex rescues drag Mexico's bonds to "junk category"
Mexico was for years a benchmark of fiscal discipline among emerging markets and, until recently, boasted an “A” rating in the bond market. Today it is one step away from speculative grade and pays higher interest rates than smaller neighboring countries with lower credit ratings, such as Guatemala and Panama.
