RCI TH bukan alat puaskan kepentingan politik, kata Kamil

Kamil Munim, the Deputy Youth Leader of PKR, cautioned both PN and Umno to refrain from using RCI as a tool for political gains. RCI's report on Tabung Haji (TH) is not meant to serve any political party's interests, but rather to uncover the truth based on facts, documents, and testimonies. Kamil questioned the insistence of PN and Umno for a new RCI to reassess the management of institutional affairs.

The RCI report released last month was not initiated by the current government, but rather by the previous administration. When the RCI report did not align with their political narrative, PN and Umno suddenly demanded a new RCI. Kamil asked, "What exactly do they want? Do they want a new RCI every time their political interests are not met until they get the outcome they desire?"

In his statement, Kamil emphasized that if there were any inaccuracies in the RCI report, the involved parties should present evidence instead of merely dismissing the findings due to their lack of political alignment. If new evidence or conflicting facts were available, they should be brought forward. If there were errors in the investigation process, they should be openly explained.

That is how a mature democracy functions, not by repeatedly requesting a new RCI simply because they are not satisfied with the results. Kamil also highlighted the action taken by PN's proxy who chose to leave the dewan during the RCI report's presentation in the Dewan Rakyat on 12th August last, while they were given the opportunity to listen and investigate the findings.

Today, when the RCI findings did not support their stance, they are again urging for the establishment of a new RCI. This raises serious questions about whether they genuinely seek the truth or merely desire an outcome that aligns with their political narrative. Kamil urged all parties to refrain from using TH as a political game to protect the interests of specific groups, as the institution is an asset of millions of depositors.

The current government, under Madani, is not afraid of the truth, and if any legal violations or weaknesses are discovered, appropriate actions must be taken. Kamil called upon PN and Umno to cease using the national institution for political gains. If they truly wish to preserve TH, they should do so with strong facts, evidence, and compelling arguments.
