Rayer denies involvement in Perlis temple rally after viral poster

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer has firmly denied any involvement in organizing or promoting a rally at the site of a recently demolished temple in Kangar, Perlis. The chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowment Board took to Facebook to clarify that his name, photograph, and position had been misused in promotional materials circulating on social media and messaging platforms.

Rayer strongly denounced the unauthorized use of his profile, stating it could create a false impression of his stance on the matter. He urged the creators of the poster to retract the materials and cease their distribution immediately. Rayer emphasized that any dispute should be resolved through legal channels and legitimate processes, rather than actions that could lead to misunderstandings or tension.

The poster falsely depicted Rayer as one of the speakers at a rally called "Perhimpunan Merah Maha Kali" at the former Sri Veera Maha Kaliamman temple site. The Temple Preservation Action Team and Hindu Agamam Ani Malaysia were listed as its organizers. Rayer had previously expressed his opposition to the temple's demolition, which took place on August 20, claiming it should not have occurred and calling for a more measured approach if the temple had violated any regulations. The state government stated that the temple was built on state land without a permit.
