Police: Plantation supervisor seriously injured in machete attack at workers’ quarters in Gua Musang

Kota Bharu, Aug 25 — A 35-year-old plantation supervisor was severely injured by a group wielding machetes, iron rods and wooden clubs during a brawl at a workers’ quarters in Gua Musang, according to police. The incident transpired around 3:15pm when representatives of a local company sought clarification on permits to enter a forest reserve.

A disagreement ensued, escalating after a worker stepped in to mediate; he was subsequently assaulted by the group using sharp weapons. The victim sustained multiple injuries including a fractured left arm, shinbone, a torn tendon in his left leg, bruising and swelling around his left eye, and a nosebleed. Police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo stated that the case is being probed under Penal Code Sections 326 and 148.
