PM Modi Reviews Six Infrastructure Projects Worth Over ₹30,000 Crore At 53rd PRAGATI Meeting

New Delhi, Aug 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed six significant infrastructure projects across railways, roads, and power sectors in nine states, with a total cost exceeding Rs 30,000 crore. At the 53rd meeting of PRAGATI, an ICT-enabled platform for proactive governance and timely implementation, Modi emphasized that delays in such projects can lead to more than just increased costs; they also postpone the benefits intended for citizens, businesses, and the economy.

During the session, Modi highlighted the importance of viewing infrastructure projects as an integrated whole, as opposed to isolated sections or packages. He stressed that progress in individual components should ultimately result in the timely completion and operationalization of the entire project. To ensure this, he urged ministries and states to adopt an end-to-end approach and tackle critical gaps that could cause delays.

Modi called for fostering a proactive work culture, with greater ownership at every level of project implementation. He also encouraged exploring common utility corridors for infrastructure services where feasible, especially in the planning stages of major transport and infrastructure projects. This approach would help streamline planning and execution, keeping technical and economic feasibility in mind.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for a balance between speed and quality in project execution. He urged ministries, states, and implementing agencies to embrace modern technologies and strengthen quality assurance and supervision at all stages. Modi reviewed the AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission, stressing the importance of leveraging advanced digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to maximize the value of agricultural data.

Moreover, Modi addressed the importance of preventing cyber fraud, including digital arrests, by focusing on training, awareness, and education.
