Pengasas Kumpulan Weststar Syed Azman dianugerah Tokoh Perdana Maulidur Rasul

Weststar founder and head Syed Azman Ibrahim has been honored with the title of Tokoh Perdana Maulidur Rasul 2026 by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The ceremony took place during the annual National Maulidur Rasul celebration. Syed Azman received this prestigious award for Weststar's accomplishments in providing over 40 helicopters for oil and gas operations, as well as their leadership in the aviation support sector and their position as a primary supplier in the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to their business success, Syed Azman has been actively involved in various philanthropic initiatives, including community infrastructure development, disaster relief, support for orphaned children, mosque and madrasah construction, and local community outreach programs. These efforts have been carried out quietly without seeking publicity, in line with Syed Azman's preference for working behind the scenes.

The award was presented by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the National Maulidur Rasul Sambutan Tahun 1448/2026 event. Meanwhile, former Deputy Prime Minister Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay received the Maulidur Rasul Award for National Hero status for his service as a police officer, including dismantling many terrorist networks and both regional and international militant groups.

Other recipients of the Maulidur Rasul Award include religious scholar Abdul Hamid Chin, Deputy Rector (Student Affairs and Community Engagement) at the International Islamic University Malaysia Ruzita Mohd Amin, former Malaysian Palm Oil Corporation CEO Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, President of the Malaysian Islamic Youth Association Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin, labor union leader Hassan Laman Yasim, and social media influencer Muhammad Mikhael Sathyah, who received the Special Tokoh (Emerging Star) award.
