PAC perlu lengkapi siasatan, bukan tolak dapatan RCI TH, kata penganalisis

Analysts advise the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (PAC) to complement, instead of undercut, the existing investigation by the Royal Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (RCI) on the Tabung Haji (TH). Ahmad Zaharuddin Sani Ahmad Sabri cautioned that a prolonged investigation by the PAC on the TH should only supplement the already available findings of the RCI, not be used to challenge them. He emphasized that concluding the investigation based on political convenience can create a phenomenon known as the "sindrom penafian."

PAC is mandated as a mechanism of balance and check in Parliament, but it should not be employed as a tool to reject the RCI's conclusions. Instead, the PAC should augment the RCI's investigation, not replace or undermine it, according to the analyst. He also discussed President Umno Zahid Hamidi's suggestion that the PAC should conduct a follow-up investigation into the TH's management rather than creating a new RCI.

Both the Setiausaha Agung Perikatan Nasional (PN) Takiyuddin Hassan and the Pengerusi PAC Mas Ermieyati Samsudin agreed with this proposal. However, they both emphasized their readiness to accept the proposal to establish a new RCI only if it is brought to the PAC and clear scope and reasons are provided for it. The PAC Chairman Mas Ermieyati Samsudin clarified that the PAC would deliberate on Zahid's proposal after the meeting in Parliament tomorrow.
