‘Do you swim with full suit?’ Rijiju hits back at Khera for mocking swimming video

Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju responded to Congress leader Pawan Khera on Tuesday for making disparaging comments about his swimming abilities. Rijiju shared a social media post on X, reminding Khera that he has fought eight elections so far, while Khera is a first-term MP nominated by his party to the Rajya Sabha.

Rijiju stated that merely because Khera is a first-term MP, he does not have the right to make indecent comments. Rijiju explained that he swims with his villagers to inspire them and followers, and he does not think about Rahul Gandhi when he is with his people. Rijiju emphasized that he is a natural "khiladi" in the mighty rivers of Arunachal Pradesh and does not require training for such activities.

He also took a jab at Khera's recent spat with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, threatening to report Khera's "indiscipline conduct" to Sarma. Rijiju questioned if Khera swims with a full suit and coat, prompting a playful exchange between the two politicians.
