Oyetola condemns post-election violence in Osun

Minister Adegboyega Oyetola has strongly denounced the post-election violence that has erupted in Osun State, urging security forces to apprehend those responsible for the deaths and other acts of violence. The former governor expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and loss of life in various parts of the region. "Violence against our people is a grave assault on the peace, heritage and democratic values that define our state," Oyetola stated in a public statement.

He emphasized that no political ambition, localized transition, or commercial interest could ever justify murder. Oyetola called for an immediate deployment of security personnel to volatile areas and the reclaiming of public spaces from troublemakers. He also demanded that all those found guilty of killings or other violent acts be swiftly brought to justice.

Oyetola appealed to all stakeholders and residents to exercise restraint, reject violence, and resolve disputes through dialogue, stressing that Osun's progress and prosperity must not be sacrificed for political or commercial interests.
