Morningstar, PitchBook partner with Google Cloud on AI tool

Morningstar Inc. and PitchBook have partnered with Google Cloud to integrate their financial services tools with Gemini Enterprise. This collaboration leverages Model Context Protocol to deliver investment research, fund analysis, company data, and private capital market intelligence within the Gemini Enterprise platform. Morningstar and PitchBook were among the launch partners for the preview of Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, and the integrations are expected to be available soon.

Subscribers will have access to Morningstar's public market investment data, research, and analysis, as well as PitchBook's private market intelligence on companies, investors, funds, and transactions, all within Gemini Enterprise. The goal is to provide source-attributed, transparent research and analysis to investors. Seth Sprinkle, Morningstar's global head of AI platforms strategy and partnerships, explained that this partnership aims to help investors access their insights more efficiently while maintaining transparency.

Tom Van Buskirk, PitchBook's executive vice president of Technology and Engineering, noted that the collaboration enables users to ask more complex questions and receive answers backed by intelligence from both companies. The integrations will be accessible to eligible subscribers of Morningstar and PitchBook, including individual MCP integration users and enterprise licensing clients.

As of June 30, 2026, Morningstar had $375 billion in assets under management and advisement, while PitchBook served over 100,000 clients worldwide and employed more than 3,000 people across global offices.
