mNotify selects 14 SMEs for AI-powered digital transformation programme

mNotify, a technology company, has initiated a three-month Digital Transformation Drive aimed at assisting Ghanaian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools to boost productivity, customer engagement, and revenue. The program, marking the company's 14th anniversary, has chosen 14 businesses from over 100 applicants across various sectors, including hospitality, manufacturing, e-commerce, software development, and cybersecurity.

mNotify's Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Tagoe, emphasized that the program's primary objective is to help businesses adopt technology tailored to their unique needs rather than merely following trends. He explained that mNotify starts by identifying the specific problem that needs addressing and the data required to tackle it. If the necessary data is not available, mNotify will help businesses acquire it, starting from basic methods such as using pen and paper to record relevant processes and structure.

Once the data is gathered, mNotify assists businesses in digitizing it. For instance, if a company struggles with record-keeping, mNotify will provide a process for maintaining accurate records. These digital processes are then integrated with AI and the appropriate tools to turn the data into actionable insights, driving business growth.

The programme's success will be measured by assessing the changes in revenue, the number of customers, and employment levels over the three-month period. Tagoe is optimistic that effective AI adoption will expand businesses rather than eliminate jobs, stating that AI serves as an enhancement to human labor. He also highlighted that digital transformation can open up new opportunities for businesses to grow and hire more people.

The initiative addresses the challenges of poor data management and record-keeping, which Tagoe identified as significant obstacles to SME digitalization. mNotify will grant the selected businesses access to its Omni mNotify platform and guidance on utilizing AI, cloud technologies, and other digital solutions to address their specific business challenges.

Tagoe emphasized that mNotify's journey from a bulk SMS company to an AI-powered customer engagement and digital solutions provider reflects its commitment to driving broader digital transformation among Ghanaian businesses. He stated that the program's lessons and outcomes will inform future cohorts, as mNotify aims to facilitate a comprehensive 360-degree digital transformation across various aspects of business operations.
