MLA writes to DCP seeking action against late-night firecracker bursting

Rajajinagar MLA, S. Suresh Kumar, has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, urging them to take action against the frequent late-night bursting of firecrackers in his constituency's residential areas. Mr. Kumar claimed that this practice is causing significant inconvenience to residents, specifically occurring after 9 p.m. in the jurisdiction of two police stations within his constituency.

While acknowledging that fireworks usage is acceptable during major religious or national festivals like New Year and Eid, he argued that the daily late-night practice is unacceptable and should be prohibited. The MLA stated that he had previously brought the issue to the police's attention multiple times via WhatsApp, but the problem persisted.

He called upon the police to issue directives to station house officers and penalize those continuously violating the restrictions on firecracker usage.
