The Strancally castle, built in 1830 and renovated in 2003, features 11 main bedrooms, 16,000 square feet of living space, and spans across 440 acres. While the exact value of the property remains undisclosed, estimates suggest it could be worth between $23.3 million and $35 million.

The purchase, which is not registered on the Irish state property price register, may serve as a European home base for Zuckerberg and his family, who maintain their international headquarters in Dublin. The Waterford City and County Council highlighted the castle's picturesque setting and emphasized the family's enthusiasm for preserving the historic property.
