Maulud: Mutfwang charges Muslims on peace, Tolerance, Unity

Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has congratulated the Muslim community in the state and across Nigeria on Eid-el-Maulud, the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birth. In his goodwill message, Mutfwang emphasized the importance of reflecting on the Prophet's virtues of peace, justice, compassion, tolerance, and respect for people of different faiths.

He highlighted that these teachings are crucial in contemporary society, especially during times when peaceful coexistence and respect for diversity are vital for the stability and development of the region and the nation. Mutfwang praised the Jos Annual Maulud Committee of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam for choosing the theme "Emulating the Prophetic Way of Peace, Mutual Respect and Religious Freedom," describing it as timely and appropriate for reinforcing values essential to peaceful coexistence in a diverse society.

He urged Muslims to use the occasion for prayers for peace, unity, and security, and called on all citizens to reject violence, hatred, and actions that undermine community harmony. Mutfwang stressed that sustaining peace is a shared responsibility, urging citizens to build trust, promote tolerance, and protect their communities.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment under the "Time Is Now" agenda to creating an environment where every citizen can freely practice their faith without hindrance. The Governor assured Plateau residents that his administration would take decisive action against criminals and elements seeking to disrupt peace. He called for renewed commitment to shared values of brotherhood, compassion, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence, which are essential for building a stronger and more united Plateau.

Mutfwang, on behalf of the state government, prayed for abundant blessings, lasting peace, unity, and prosperity for Plateau State and Nigeria during Eid-el-Maulud.
