Leeds beat Forest again to reach League Cup third round

Jai Arrow, the veteran forward for South Sydney Rabbitohs, is determined to reach a career milestone of 100 games in Australia’s National Rugby League, despite being diagnosed with motor neurone disease in May. The NRL has granted a special exception to allow Arrow to play in his 99th and 100th games for the club. Arrow, 31, had previously retired from the sport to focus on his treatment and family life.

The NRL has included Arrow as an extra player on the official team list and an additional substitution in the rotation for the upcoming game against the Gold Coast Titans. Arrow will lead the team onto the field, take the first substitution within the first few seconds of the game, and sit on the interchange bench for the remainder of the match without participating in any play.

This will bring Arrow’s total games in the NRL to 180, with 100 for the Rabbitohs, including his representative games in the State of Origin series. NRL chairman Peter V’landys believes this special dispensation highlights the sport's ability to inspire positive human qualities.
