Indonesia's forest and land fires have begun to subside, with President Prabowo Subianto expressing optimism that the situation could be fully resolved within one or two weeks. The president highlighted the deployment of various resources, including dozens of helicopters, more than 12 aircraft, hundreds of water tanks and pumps, and thousands of rescue personnel.

He believes the fires are now being controlled and brought under control in several areas. "I hope that within a week or two, everything can be resolved," he said at the launch of Indonesia's 100GW solar power program and ground-breaking ceremony for a project in Jembrana, Bali. The president noted that Indonesia is currently experiencing an El Nino phenomenon, which is among the strongest and has raised concerns about the country's vulnerability to its risks.

He toured several regions to assess the situation and found that district administrations, ministries, agencies, military, police, and disaster management authorities were working effectively. Last Saturday, Prabowo flew to West and Central Kalimantan to assess forest and land fire operations and lead the response effort before traveling to Sumatra on Monday to monitor firefighting efforts there.

He also highlighted the government's response to recent disasters, including the strong earthquake that struck Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) at the beginning of the month. The president emphasized that Indonesia's disaster response has been swift, massive, and effective, regardless of location.
