Imran Khan getting same treatment he gave his opponents: Mehbooba

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti stated on Tuesday (August 25, 2026) that former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is receiving the same treatment that his government imposed on his opponents. She recounted their first encounter in 1994, recalling her meeting with Khan in London alongside her father and how his fervor for positive change in Pakistan deeply impressed him.

Despite becoming Prime Minister himself, Khan's administration adopted the same political culture, persistently targeting his opponents with the same vigor he now faces. Mehbooba expressed her observations on the social media platform X, noting that Khan was removed as Prime Minister in March 2022 through a no-confidence motion and has been imprisoned since March 2023 on corruption allegations.
