‘I got a kiss!’: BTS Jimin’s sweet moment with young cancer patient in Texas sparks over RM290,000 in donations (VIDEO)

In a heartwarming moment during BTS' concert in Texas, member Jimin surprised young cancer patient Olivya by kissing her cheek. The emotional exchange between the K-pop idol and the five-year-old girl, who is supported by the US non-profit Heroes for Children, quickly went viral, garnering over five million views within a day. Jimin, who was performing Go Go during the group's Arirang world tour, had stepped off stage to greet Olivya, one of five children battling cancer given VIP seats at the concert through a sponsorship by health insurer UnitedHealthcare.

Before the kiss, he presented her with a keychain, patted her head, hugged her, and then planted a kiss on her cheek. The touching moment prompted Heroes for Children to launch a fundraising campaign to support children with cancer and their families. Within a short span of time, the campaign had raised more than 100 million won (RM291,700) for the cause, far exceeding their US$100,000 target.

Heroes for Children senior director of events and marketing Natalie Bruegger expressed her gratitude to BTS fans worldwide, stating that their response to Olivya's story has been overwhelmingly positive and far beyond their expectations. The concert provided the young patients a much-needed respite from their hospital routines, allowing them to experience a normal childhood for one night.

Additionally, Jimin's gesture inspired people around the world to learn more about childhood cancer and contribute to supporting affected children and their families.
