Huawei puts a wider screen on a non-foldable ahead of Apple’s iPhone Ultra debut

Huawei has introduced a new non-foldable smartphone, the Pura X View, featuring an unusually wide 6.39-inch screen with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio. This marks the first time a non-foldable phone from the brand will take on a wider design. The trend of wider phone designs is gaining momentum, with Apple reportedly preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone next month, potentially sporting a shorter and wider form factor.

The Pura X View's slim 1.05mm bezels on all sides contribute to its wide appearance. Powered by the Kirin 9030S chipset, the device houses a 7,000mAh battery and claims to offer a larger screen area than more conventional models, such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Despite being priced competitively, the Pura X View's advanced features and ultra-thin construction showcase Huawei's commitment to innovation in the smartphone market.
