Health Ministry extends reporting deadline for nurses, allied health professionals

The Ghana Health Service has extended the reporting deadline for nurses and allied health professionals by several months. The new deadline is August 31, 2026. The Ministry of Health confirms this is the final extension for all affected professionals.

The Ministry has clarified the recruitment, posting, and salary payment processes in response to misleading information circulating publicly. The Ministry explains the step-by-step process of recruitment, interviews, acceptance, facility confirmation, salary input, validation, and payment.

Every professional must complete these processes before receiving their salary. The Ministry emphasizes this is to ensure only genuine workers are paid and to prevent paying for work not done or creating ghost names. They have directed Human Resource Directors to expedite capturing and processing eligible professionals who have reported for duty.

Professionals who fail to report by August 31, without a valid reason, will have their names removed from the system. These vacancies will be filled through a mop-up exercise in early September 2026. The Ministry urges affected professionals to take advantage of the final extension to report to their assigned facilities.
